Mentorship opportunity with upper management. What should I be asking?
Interview Experience
I'm a senior engineer with a 2+ decades of experience. I have the opportunity to have monthly meetings with upper management in a global IT corporation. If you had this opportunity for growth, insight, and exposure to upper management, how would you utilize it? What objectives would you share with your mentor that they can help you with? Being that they cannot help me with the tech side of things, I'm interested in management perspectives and want to use it as a business networking opportunity. How can I capitalize on access to someone who has a couple more decades experience than me and learn from them perspectives that they have gained over years of managing multiple teams and reporting to the CIO,CEO, etc? So far all I can think of is "I want to learn to see things from your perspective", which is a little to obtuse for us to have specifics to cover(which is requested). I need to bring specific requests to the table. Please share your ideas!
