My interviewer refused to turn on his camera, then got angry and yelled at me.
Interview Experience
I just finished one of the weirdest interview calls I've ever had with a major consulting firm. I joined the video call with my camera on and ready, only to be met with a black screen from the interviewer's side. I politely asked if he could turn on his camera, and he just laughed and said, 'No, it's not really necessary.' A bit later, he told me I had to remove my virtual background because it was against 'official protocol.' So, the company's protocol requires me to have my camera on without a background, but it's fine for him to be just a voice? It made absolutely no sense. Later in the interview, there was a technical question I fumbled, and he literally started raising his voice at me, asking how I didn't know the answer. These people forget they are talking to human beings. I've been unemployed for 3 months, and dealing with this kind of treatment while trying to find a job is honestly very tough. Update: I searched on LinkedIn and Glassdoor and left a bad rating and review, and I won't stop there. I also found the email of someone higher up in the company and I will send them an email with everything that happened. Of course, as expected, I didn't get the job. I received the rejection letter. In any case, this was a big warning sign. The worst part is unemployment and I need a job as soon as possible. If anyone can help me with any advice or recommend me at their company, I would be very grateful.
