Kikoff Onsite Fulltime SDE Interview Experience Overview
Interview Experience
The first round was with HM (Host Manager). We started by discussing my projects, mainly focusing on preparing for my most important project. The whole conversation went well, with no major issues. The second round was with a young guy. He gave me a matrix and asked me to calculate the area of any submatrix within it, implementing an API called subRegion(int r1, int c1, int r2, int c2). (r1, c1) represents the coordinates of the top left corner, and (r2, c2) represents the coordinates of the bottom right corner. I successfully calculated the area. The interviewer was very friendly, and the overall experience was good. The third round was with SD (Surveyor Manager). It involved designing Kikoff, which is somewhat similar to designing payment systems. This was actually quite complex. I only covered the parts I knew, but the interviewer was also helpful, and the experience was generally positive. In the fourth round, the real show began. One interviewer, presumably Chinese, immediately asked me to share my screen. He remained expressionless the entire time, not even smiling. After I clarified a question with him, he told me to look at the example he gave me, still expressionless. Seriously, was he trying to perform Terminator for me? He kept turning off the video, I don't know what he was doing... I was definitely getting tired. His question was about creating a file system, which read like a short essay. Finally, he just said they were out of time... I'm not surprised I failed; I've been working in the Bay Area for over a decade. This is the first time I've encountered such a weirdo. He didn't even try to put on an act, and most importantly, I didn't do anything wrong! :( Finally, I want to say, buddy, if you're unhappy in life, don't take it out on innocent people. Good luck!
