Coping with uncertainty after interviews?
Interview Experience
Hey everyone. So on Monday and Tuesday, I had final interviews for a job that I think is a perfect fit for me. It's in an industry that is somewhat of a niche, and my experience aligns well with the position and company. The interviews went great - I had good chemistry with the interviewers and they had really extensive answers to my questions. And they said they would follow up soon. It's now the end of the week and I haven't heard back at all. I emailed and texted the recruiter yesterday just to get an idea on potential next steps and when I might expect to hear back, but he has not replied back. I thought if I had gotten the job, I would've heard back by now but nothing. I understand that yes, even if the position and company is 100% perfect for me I still might not get it. And yes, I should continue applying which I have. But I can't shake that nagging feeling of uncertainty. If there's anything I hate more than rejection, it's uncertainty. How do you cope with this? I know I should just move on, but it's such a perfect opportunity for me that I keep trying to hold out hope. Some things that I've been thinking about are how they might have still been interviewing other candidates this week. And also that at the current job I'm at, they didn't get back to me until a full week and a day after they did final panel interviews with me. Just a little bit of hope to keep me going!
