The Chinese interviewer was 15 minutes late. First, we did an algorithm coding exercise: given a 1-dimensional coordinate, find a location and the maximum of the minimum distances to all other locations. The follow-up was how to find the location if there were k locations. I honestly couldn't figure it out on the spot... (There was a hint: consider gaps and priority queues). Afterwards, they asked a few simple machine learning questions. That was it; I failed the next day. The interviewer seemed very tired. Since it was an ads interview, it felt like a high-pressure red flag. I comforted myself by thinking it was okay not to go.
