Walmart SDE-3 Interview Experience Recently interviewed for SDE-3 at Walmart. Sharing my experience in case it helps others. Round 1 – DSA Q1: Next Greater Element II Q2: A grid-based problem similar to Walls and Gates / Rotting Oranges (classic BFS pattern) ➡️ Got confirmation from the recruiter that I cleared Round 1. Round 2 – LLD + Java This was my first Low-Level Design round, and honestly, I didn’t perform well here. I was able to answer Java and Spring Boot–related questions confidently. However, my LLD approach and structuring were not strong enough. ❌ Didn’t qualify for Round 3. Takeaway DSA alone isn’t enough for senior roles. Strong LLD fundamentals are critical for SDE-3 and above. Lesson learned — time to focus more on design patterns, object modeling, and clean design thinking.
