I recently took on some strange HF (High-Frequency) interviews for practice. This company was completely opaque; even their Zoom invites were sent via LinkedIn messages. A white guy came up, a long-time third-rate sell-side MD (Management Analyst), but I didn't know what he actually did. He claimed he wanted to lead a platform team to develop agency AI to support traders/analysts. He got straight to the point, unfriendly, only interested in finding agency AI-related information in my resume to extract information. It seemed he just wanted to find weaknesses in my resume and stump me. There was a complete lack of effective communication. After half an hour of awkward small talk, he said he had no more questions and quickly logged off. He was the kind of hypocritical finance professional who was both envious and anxious about GenAI/Agentic AI, lacking in manners yet arrogant, and self-righteously trying to be clever—a perfect example.
