I attended the IBM India pooled drive in August at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu for the role of Software Developer. Eligibility: Only female candidates from B.E/B.Tech (CSE, IT, ISE, AI&DS, EEE, ECE, EIE), MCA, M.Tech (Data Science), M.E (Embedded Systems) 70% in UG with no standing arrears The process had 3 rounds:

Round 1 Coding Assessment 1 (Virtual) Mode: Online, proctored Duration: 1 hour Questions: 2 (Greedy, Max Heap) Difficulty: Moderate Shortlisted candidates were invited to the

next round, conducted 4 days later at a common college.

Round 2 Coding Assessment 2 Mode: Offline (Morning session) Duration: 75 minutes Questions: (i) Simple if-else logic (ii) SQL query with join (iii) Pattern printing Difficulty: Easy–Moderate Candidates solving at least 2 questions moved to the technical interview.

Note: Coding assessment 2 was easier than coding assessment 1.

Round 3 Technical Interview (Afternoon session) Duration: ~30 mins Panel: 2 interviewers Questions/topics discussed: (i) Asked me to explain the logic for the pattern-printing problem in round 2 (ii) SQL queries + one scenario-based DB question (iii) Factors to consider while designing a website for a grocery store (iv) My web development projects (v) How web pages are rendered Since I’m from a non-CS background, questions were kept application-oriented rather than deeply technical. At the end, the interviewers encouraged me to explore AI and work on related projects. There was no HR round. Results were announced the next day and I got selected for intern+full time role. Tips: Be consistent in practicing DSA. Have a few solid projects on your resume. Brush up on SQL.
