Hi all, I've been speaking with this director for about a month now reached out through Linkedin. After casually talking for a bit he mentioned that he's looking for a regional manager to bring into his team. This is a non-publicly listed position and he looks for people within his network. I sent him my resume and explained that I am interested in the position. Fast forward about a week and he asked me if I'm still looking so I said yes. He asked to talk on the phone so I gave him a call and we spoke pretty casually for an hour about experience, how we both got into the industry. He said he wants to meet me in person and expected start date would be around April or May. No date has been set but he did say that with my experience he can see us growing this new channel together pretty quickly. He asked about my expected salary so I told him and he said he will structure it around my base and have my bonus to match my ceiling. This was all within the same week. Now he is traveling for the next few weeks and did mention that if I wanted I can meet him on a weekend when he's in town to finalize comp and I am expecting to see my energy in person as well. Should I ask if he would be more comfortable with virtual if he is busy? HR has not been involved at this point but when he was at HQ he asked me to provide my resume to his work email. I am assuming to forward to HR? Everything is pointing as going well but being unemployed for so long this panned out very well for me. Should I just be patient? I do check in with a text hoping his travels is successful and safe. We did joke about how the snow made his wife pretty upset since he was away. TLDR: Reached out to director through linkedin, spoke there, then on the phone for an hour. Talked comp and he wants to meet in person. No date set for in person meeting. Traveling for few weeks, did say if I am comfortable he can see me on a weekend. Do I check in? Ask for an update? HR has not been involved as of yet.
