Co-worker bad mouthing me and spreading that I bombed an interview

I am a tradesmen that had an interview with one of my dream companies. I studied for the interview, but was hit with questions that are out of the normal for my roll. I told no one at my current place

I am a tradesmen that had an interview with one of my dream companies. I studied for the interview, but was hit with questions that are out of the normal for my roll. I told no one at my current place of employment that I had an interview for company (A), but returned back to work to find out that everyone in the shop knew. Apparently, my co-worker is cousins with one of the interviewers. The interviewer told him where I struggled, and was bad mouthing me. However, since I am a minority, I stand a good chance of still getting the job. I dont know how to feel about this. This was one of my dream places to work, but feel like all of this should have remained confidential. Also, If I am to be hired, now I would feel like that all they really wanted was another minority. I guess the question is, what would you guys do in this situation?
