Hello all. I had an amazing first round screening, but then I sent a 3 paragraph thank you email with multiple typos. Unfortuunately, I ignored the inner voice that said to send it "late" but proof read. The impulsive, "but the advice column said 'same day"' anxiety won out and may have lost me the opportunity of a lifetime. I probably shouldn't have sent a thank you, or no more than a few sentences to the first stage recruiter. The longer thank you is more appropriate to the hiring panel. Have I ruined my chance? If you are a first round talent recruiter, would you still forward a really well qualified candidate to the next round? EDIT: I should add that this is for a high level professional position where writing well is a basic requirement. The errors were multiple and glaring; an extra "and" out of place, a misplaced comma, 2 words run together. Aaaahhhh.
