During my job search I was approached by a certain .AI small company recruiter, I had the phone screening interview that went ok and I was invited to a zoom interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager interview started 10 min late, I waited patiently until these 2 ladies joined (recruiter and hiring manager) they did not apologize for being late (first red flag) but I let it slide, the interview went ok and I was summoned for an onsite interview. I arrived onsite couple mins before the time of the interview and was welcomed by the recruiter that told me to sit down and wait for them to call me. 5 min pass, 10 min pass, 15 min pass and nothing I asked the recruiter what is the status and she said “oh yeah I will check now” (don’t known what she was doing up to that point) Any how 20 mins of wait and I get called in a room, again no one apologizes for being late I was pissed but again I let it slide. Now I am being told we are waiting for another girl head of product or something like that. We wait 5 more minutes and that girl finally shows up and she ask me to tell about myself since we did not talk before. I start to tell about myself and that girl does not even look at me, she is on her phone, the other 2 ladies are staring at me nodding at every word I say (like robots) and all of a sudden that girl which was on the phone stops me and start talking and laughing with the other ladies for a minute like I am not even there (she showed them something on her phone). After 1 min or so she turns to me and asks “oh where were we?” At this point I am burning inside I did not even want to continue but i dragged my inner self to continue. So I continue and after a minute that girl who was on the phone says “oh I got to go”, she gets up and leave I am left speechless the other 2 girls are looking at me, at that point my face reflects pure anger, they proceed to ask me if I got any questions to them, so i asked the questions I wanted to ask out of pure courtesy and then the recruiter says ok that will be enough for today we will contact you soon with our decisions. I left without a word and when I stepped out of the office I had to throw few curses just to blow some steam. This was the most disrespectful process I had undergone so far and I hope i won’t have to endure such process again. I know that sometimes people are busy and meetings get delayed but the polite thing to do is apologize for being late, had they done that I would not have been angry with them but it’s disrespect and disrespect to the point that I don’t want to think if they respect their own employees and clients time. Anyway my time was wasted and I am pissed.
