Hey everyone, I recently interviewed for the

SDE 2 role at Microsoft (Redmond, USA) and I’m feeling pretty anxious about the timeline, so I wanted to see if anyone here has been through something similar. Here’s my journey so far: * Initially got reached out by a recruiter. * Then the hiring manager directly emailed me (in the same thread) to set up a technical screening. * Cleared that and later got an email to schedule 4 more rounds. * Completed those interviews on

Sept 3 & 4 (I think all 4 went great! was able to solve all LC and System Design questions). Now it’s been about a week since the onsite, and I haven’t heard back yet. My Action Center portal still shows the status as “Scheduled.” I’ve also got around 1.5 years of work experience. From what I understand, SDE 2 is usually

L61 or higher, what are my chances at that level? Since it’s team-specific hiring, do they typically consider down-leveling (e.g., to L60) if experience doesn’t line up, or is it more of a yes/no situation for the level you interviewed at? I’m not sure what to expect at this point, am I in serious consideration, or is this looking like a silent reject/ghosting? For those who recently went through the process at Microsoft (whether

hired or rejected), how long did it take before you heard back after the final rounds? Any insights would help calm my nerves 🙏 ------------------------------------- UPDATE ---------------------------------------------------------- After 6 business days, my application was moved from "interview" tab to "inactive" tab. I didn't receive any rejection emails. Since I had <2yr work experience and this was a SDE 2 role, I had hopes they would down-level and reach out to me. After sending multiple emails to the recruiter asking for an update, on the 9th business day, I get a reply from her saying, "I hope you're doing well. Unfortunately, the position has been filled. However, we encourage you to explore other career opportunities on Microsoft Careers, as new openings are updated daily. We look forward to considering you for future positions at Microsoft!" She didn't have the curtesy of saying sorry or anything. Sent a random reply. I asked for feedback, probably may get ghosted (as it took me 3 emails to get this reply). Look, I get it recruiters are busy and they have a lot of candidates, I understand if it's a general pool but this is TEAM SPECIFIC HIRING and I HAD 5 ROUNDS with them! Including an "AA" round with the VP! The least they can do is respond back quickly if it's a rejection instead of delaying it and making me keep hopes! For anyone going though this, it is a lot frustrating but hang in there. Don't keep hopes until you get an offer letter. Delay doesn't mean positive (atleast in my case). Don't let them take you down. I wasted 2 days of my time sulking, and still trying to move on. Hope this helps anyone going through what I went. All the best! :)
