Is software dev really supposed to be a suiting career for those with ADHD?

Apparently a lot of people think this career is something that those with ADHD can thrive in. As someone with severe ADHD, I disagree with this sentiment. Sure there are moments where I would be hyper-focused when coding things. But for the most I would always tune out in meetings and just generally not give a shit. What do you guys think?
