Downsides of delaying a phone screen at a large company?

Just got a recruiter email from a very large company about setting up a technical phone screen which ends with "if the timing isn't right we are happy to follow up later in the year". Wondering if there are any downsides to this that I'm not seeing (I doubt this position will be closed since they hire all-year round). I want to delay this til the end of the year to: * Finish a large project I've been working on all year * Leet code prep since I'm pretty rusty and an extra month or two will definitely help
