There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Wanted to share my experience with getting internship and the job hunt in general. The market is so cooked, but with enough hard work and luck, you got this. # Timeline * 10/11/25 - Apply for winter SDE intern position with referral * 10/21/25 - Received OA. * 10/24/25 - Completed OA 100% test cases

passed * 11/21/25 - Informed winter internship slots filled and my application was moved to summer (progress saved) * 1/7/26 - Virtual Interview Invite * 1/12/26 - Virtual Interview Confirmation * 1/16/26 - Virtual Interview. 2 one-hour blocks * 1/21/26 - Offer and Accepted # Process 1. The OA was horrifically difficult, at least to me. Struggled to get through it, a lot of bouncing back and forth and trying different ideas. Eventually got through all test cases. 2. Interview - I'd say it was more chill, but got a leetcode hard asked, then a design question (make an X app). Very much a struggle, needed help to get through the leetcode question within the 30 minutes provided, and I personally wasn't satisfied with the answer I gave in the second one. However, I vocalized pretty much my entire thought process the way through along with any edges cases I thought of. We spent like 10 minutes before I started coding on both. The behavioral felt much better, and I'm sure that's partially what got me the offer. # Resume My resume is as follows: School: random no-name school for undergrad, current master's at GaTech. Job Experience: 1 summer internship at a DoD contractor, 2 years of part-time software developer role at a cyber-sec firm. Whole deal, maintain stuff, new features, sev-2 tickets, the entire sd package. Projects: I mostly listed stuff I did in my job here, along with 1 personal (that included AWS), there's not much space in 1 page. Other projects I could include, and talked about during interview, are full stack projects of personal stuff I host on my home server. Finance tracker, a random stock betting website, an anki based leetcode problem picker + web scraper to check for new leetcode questions. How the actual job search went It was truthfully an utterly miserable experience job searching. I definitely didn't document a few, so this is lowball. Notable OA's that I took and didn't get in include Stripe, Epic Systems and IBM. # Tips Kinda generic stuff. Do leetcode. Scrounge everywhere for recs. I got old roommates, old TA's, random super extended family for recs, and those all converted into at least OA's. Do personal projects of stuff that you would use and can talk about. I think me being excited talking about my projects and what else I wanted to add to them when I had time gave me bonus points. You guys got this. I'm fully convinced luck plays a huge part. Just make sure your coding skills are up to scratch, esp under pressure, so you can make the most of the chances you get.
